The young Oakland Athletics have seen too many of these endings

The young Oakland Athletics have seen too many of these endings lately during their playoff chase.

Adrian Beltre singled home the winning run in the ninth inning Monday night, after tying the game two innings earlier with his 35th homer, and the Texas Rangers rallied past Oakland 5-4 to stretch their AL West lead over the  Athleticsto five games with nine to play.

"It's one game. We have to bounce back. We did that in both Detroit and New York. We lost some tough ones and bounced back," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "It would have been nice to start off with a win in the series, but you have to move on from it."

The Razorbacks started slowly for the second straight game

The Razorbacks started slowly for the second straight game, even with Wilson in the lineup in the first half.

Arkansas struggled at times in last week's season-opening win over JacksonvilleState, allowing 163 yards passing in the first half to the FCS Gamecocks. The Razorbacks' defensive woes continued Saturday.

Browning was at the center of Arkansas' frustrations, avoiding the Razorbacks time and again. His 4-yard touchdown pass to Centarius Donald put the Warhawks up 7-0 in the first half, and he closed Arkansas' lead to 28-21 early in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Steed.
